Hello there everyone….

All the Masters Hockey players are doing their little jig…the week has finally arrived…after what seems like an eternity (but sometimes it feels like just last week that it was announced)…the wait is over…and the Masters Hockey Tournament for 2017 is about to be hosted by Eastern Gauteng…with Benoni Northerns featuring very prominently…us with 3 of our grass fields and the Astro being used… all the functions being hosted on the top field in the Marquee…and I’m sure we will see a fair deal of activity in our bars and beer garden…with the new veranda being well utilised with the such easy access now to both the Hall and Ladies Bar…

Could all Members please note that the prices of some of our Bar menu, are to fall in line with those that are being offered in the Marquee by Eastern Gauteng (all spirits are to be one price)…this is to make it simpler for change and management purposes…these new prices will be valid from Wednesday through to Sunday…Some prices will escalate slightly, whilst others will fall, which is always good news…..but the glass beer pricing at the Club will remain unchanged….

The North is going to be hectically busy, so can I please ask members to show some patience whilst this mad house continues…and keep on offering the happy smiling faces to all our guests as we usually do…it is going to be a really difficult time for all the staff, if we can show some consideration whilst possibly waiting a little longer than normal for our favourite tipple….we are going to try to keep exclusivity of the car park and the Club side for Members, but a few stragglers may slip through…

Again the alterations are adding another dimension to our Club…and the addition of the new facade at the entrance, is definitely going to add value to all the patrons of the Club….I think the “kerb appeal” has definitely been improved…When it is all complete it is going to be quite breath taking…from what was there a mere 2 months ago, to what it is today, is really a wonderful facelift…many people are saying “why didn’t we think of or do this before?…. well it is due to the continued fantastic support that we have received from the Members and the innovative ideas that the Main Club Committee have come up with, have enabled them to put into action all these marvellous changes… all the changes are envisaged  for the enjoyment and use of the Members of the Club….So to all of our Members who continue to supports and believe in us…a massive big thank you.

Our weekend was not as sportingly successful as we would have liked, with the first soccer side going down by the odd goal in three, but the Colts “A” , second and fourth sides restoring some pride with impressive wins…with a lot of postponements in the Hockey (both Men and Ladies) in order that players weren’t put at risk of injury before the Masters, the Club was relatively quiet….however a few of our stalwarts, ensured that the Club wasn’t a complete Ghost Town…and all those that arrived, definitely enjoyed their time with us.

The Joker draw on Friday was still not been won, so the winnings this week have moved up to R125 496…..and the Members draw was a carry over, with that now escalating by R200 and up to R2 600… We are having the ”Dream Catcher” full band through on Friday night, so for those lovers of the golden oldies…join us…this promises to be an epic Friday night…

We have also been able to secure two stalwarts of comedy…Tony Stewart and Mel Miller…who will be performing at the North on September 16, 2017 at 19h00 in a show they have entitled “Two Old Farts”…It promises to be great evening of fun and laughter…tickets are R100 each and can be purchased at the bar…while bookings can be made with Glenda at the Club Office on 0118493410.

I’m keeping it short and sweet this week as there are a myriad of tasks that need to sorted out before the Masters…so please excuse me for my short message today… There will be more than enough news to report back on next week….
