Bridge Results 9 Feb 2017
Seventy two percent! That’s right! Diana and Vaun did it with style, panache, skill and all those other superlatives yesterday. What a result! Followed in second place with a not so shabby 62% by Bridie and Paul. The rest of us are there as well, but a little further down. Ah, well.
After all of you bridge fanatics went home to your supper and TV last night, we, your elected representatives, went into a huddle in the shape of a committee meeting and laboured into the night deliberating all manner of things.
The most important item discussed was that of the annual teams event. It will take the same shape as last year’s, starting on Tuesday the 28th February. Thus far we have 5 teams clearly identified, with the 6th one about to be firmed up. Please take note, therefore, that over the next 5 months, the last Tuesday night of each month will be devoted to team of four activities.
Those of you, particularly our newer members, who will not be involved in teams, should please liase with Ian Lowden in order to ensure that you will still be able to play bridge on these evenings. He can be reached on 083 303 4212. He will assist in setting up a parallel session for those of you not involved in teams.
The team which will represent our club at the National Interclub competition late this year will be selected by the committee, from members available at that time. We reserve the right not to enter a team, should the top pairs/players not be available.
That’s it for now.
Now I’m going to take Troy ‘walkies’, buy the paper, read about the parliamentary fracas last night and just contemplate my navel.
I’ll see you all next week.
Roy
