Five and a half tables, sit out at table 1, six table Howell. Then the fun began, with some beautiful, interesting hands. When you open the attachment for last night’s hands, just look at, for instance, board 7, which contains latent drama, with potential for 5H or 5S, depending on where you sit! Then there are other considerations, such as sacrificing in 6! Wow!
Then let’s go to board14 !

Last night we bid 6 Spades, with South as declarer. Either 6C or 6S makes, but you have to find the QS. The almost natural way, without having had any clues from the opposition bidding, would be to finesse the JS, which loses to the Q, sitting in East’s hand. At least one down immediately! What to do? How do you find it, scientifically? Well, it so happens that ‘they’ say that, failing all else, you should look at which direction the K of Spades is looking, which is where the Q will be waiting, like a veritable spider in a web.Well, look at board 14, examine a King of Spades, sitting in your Southern hand, and you’ll notice he’s looking directly East. Say no more! There she sits!
Wow! How about that!
OK, OK, just having fun. But, if you followed this kind of stuff, Tarot cards, etc, etc, who knows? Just saying, you know!
Apologies, some fun, but last night was also fun and the final result was a win for Tor Meyer and yours truly, followed by Paul and Bridie, then Judy and Heather in third.
See you tomorrow, watch out for the Queen and just follow the bidding! You know what I mean?
Roy
And, how about this
