That’s right! Rainy indeed, in fact I had to cover our bidding boxes when I carried them to the hall. But what a beautiful day for bridge. I mean, who needs sunshine when you’re playing bridge.

Now for the results:
Vaun and Diana did it today, followed by Paul and Bridie, then Lisa and Mary. The hands were ordinary today, apparently boring, but you know what, that’s when one needs to be extra-careful. Sometimes, when the urge to bid is overwhelming, but dangerous, it’s time to quickly take stock and realise that part scores also have a place in the overall scheme of things. It’s not just about game contracts and slams. The key factor is accuracy and that’s what hands like today’s teach us. It is also about patience.

Please remember that next Tuesday, the 27th, is the second round of our Teams Championship. Only players registered in teams will be taking part.
