What can I really say? It started off looking quite busy, but that’s what we expect on a Thursday, compared to a Tuesday. Then the horde arrived, in droves!

Are you kidding me? 12 Tables? Myself and Ian and Lisa had a mini-conference, as we had never had to set up the program for 12 tables before. Thanks also to Sid for his input and finally it all came together and it all worked! At teatime there were two number 23 pairs showing on the rolling screen, and one of the N/S pairs was showing as an E/W, but blood,sweat and tears later, everything came together.

Next week we’ll be ready for anything you lot throw at us, we don’t scare easily, bring it on! 13 Tables? Two sections? Swiss teams? Hungarian Rhapsodies? Bring it on.

Well, after that the final placings went to Peter and Neels in the N/S section with a great score of 69,55% and to that very efficient pair of Helen and Barbara in the E/W section with 69,1%.

We have decided not to play a teams event on Monday after all. With everything going on right now, there hasn’t been enough time to organise it properly. We will definitely get it going sometime soon, but we need to put our committee heads together and come up with a Monday teams event that will comprise of something similar to that of the annual Teams championship, with fixed teams. In addition, we want to organise a match with Jack’s Club, so watch this space for details.

I know I’ve told this one before, but in the middle of a rather busy afternoon, seeing some puzzled faces, I was reminded of the Declarer who, after examining his partner’s dummy hand, asked him ” Where’s the hand you were bidding on”

Ja well, no fine!
