What a business! I sat down last night to send you your usual results and my meanderings, only to find that Google Chrome had ceased to function, thereby not giving me Internet access. After much muttering, several cups of coffee, trying all sorts of mental gymnastics to sort the problem out, I finally gave up in disgust at about 10pm. This morning it was the same thing all over, so I drove to our club, tried out their WiFi, but found that Google Chrome had undergone another metamorphosis, now it didn’t even open.

Don’t ask how, but after visiting Matrix computers, uninstalling it, reinstalling it, paying R150 to a young man who obviously considered me to be way past my sell by date, here I am, calm as a cucumber, talking to you all through the ether, from Benoni Northerns.

Now to yesterday and the results. Firstly, thanks to Bill for a very pleasant afternoon of bridge, a successful afternoon also, with us coming in first on 70.63%. We were followed by that pair of dark horses, Tico and Bram, then Helen and Barbara.

I’m pleased to say that Ian is making an appearance next week, after his sojourn at the coast, so welcome back young man.

With all the drama of the past 12 hours, I’m now going to go home and have a much needed cup of tea, sit down on the patio and contemplate my navel.

What a life, what a day, here’s to the weekend, here’s to some long walks with Troy.
