So you thought I had gone to sleep and just forgotten about sending the results out, didn’t you? Well, no, it just had to do with a decision I was awaiting from the Tournament Director, which meant there was a small adjustment which had to be made to one of the boards, which, incidentally, didn’t make any difference to the end results. There you are!

The winners yesterday were Trevor and Di! Yes indeed, they came from nowhere at the end and galloped into first place, with Hans and Albert second and a joint third place to both Diana and Vaun, together with Paul and Bridie. Then came the rest of us.

I have had some interesting discussions of late with some of you who haven’t been achieving good results and are subsequently concerned about how to improve. Well, there just isn’t any substitute for hard work and a little application, is there? My advice to some of these people is simply to read, read, then read some more. Read bridge articles on the Internet, follow some of the really interesting blog sites, start something new with your partner, adopt a new convention, use Roman Keycard instead of just Blackwood, use transfers etc, etc etc……………………

There’s plenty of time left for all of us youngsters to learn something new. Do it today. It’s never too late.
