And so it all happened! The cards were hot, the wine was flowing like water, ……… No, that’s another script. I’m forgetting where I was!

Where was I? Oh yes, Benoni Northerns Bridge Club, Thursday afternoon, 11th May. I had a hand with 6 clubs to the 8, with only one point in my hand, and Priscilla opened 2 clubs. I bid 2 diamonds, she bid 2 hearts and I was really tempted, really tempted to bid 3 clubs, with 1 point!! But I was strong, I passed with a clear conscience, and, voila! Priscilla had AKQJ of clubs! But, 5 clubs should not make, so that’s it. But, did I mention, I was sorely tempted! Other than that, I had a lovely afternoon playing with Priscilla for the first time, especially considering we starting playing, having not even had the time to discuss what we were going to play. Thank you, Priscilla.

The two gentlemen from Pretoria, Hans and Albert, came in first, with Paul and Bridie a close second and Helen and Barbara third.

There was a very nice gesture from Hans and Albert, who advised me that they were going to be away for quite a few months, so they donated their winnings back to the club and asked me to buy some biscuits in lieu. Thanks guys.

And the weekend approaches, we look forward to whatever it brings, I’m going to walk Troy now, because he’s really demanding, then it’s over to TV to see what’s happening in the world outside of bridge, then it’s bedtime.
