Good evening to you all from Country View, where we’ve just had “sound and fury, signifying nothing” from the Highveld weather.( Apologies to Macbeth). But the thunderstorms will come, the rain will bucket down, the Sandpan will fill up and everywhere nature will respond in kind. This morning when Troy and I were taking our daily walk around the dam, I was delighted to observe scores of young Flamingos among the adults, still without their pink hued plumage, but that will come as they mature.

Tomorrow is forecast to be 33 degrees, even warmer than today. Keep out of the sun, hydrate and take it easy. Drink something different, try something new. Hydrate!

Today’s winners were Sid and Roz, followed by Pat and Deirdre, then Helen and Barbara in third. Well done all of you. The two old guys didn’t do too well today, but we’re keeping the best for Saturday. Watch this space!

Saturday’s two sessions will be structured in such a way that we will ensure that each pair will be playing each other pair, during the day. Remember that play will start at 0900 sharp, so please be there on time. Remember also to bring one plate of either sweet or savoury snacks per pair.
