Bridge Results 3 Apr 2018
Well, well, I believe I think I might have quoted this line before, but there once was an entertaining little movie, back in the early 70s, called ” If it’s Tuesday, it must be Belgium”. But of course, after the Easter weekend, being a Tuesday and being Benoni, if it’s Tuesday, it ‘must be Northerns and it must be bridge’.
And bridge it was, with Di and her partner for the evening, who was Caroline, coming in first with 66.15%, followed by Ian and myself in second, and Helen and Tor in third place.Very well done to the winners and thanks to all for just being there and playing bridge tonight. What a game!
My thanks to someone called ‘Winstonm’, a contributor to a bridge website devoted to bridge, for the following little limerick;
Solomon seemed totally untrainable
And his goal of great play unobtainable
But through grit and his wits
And playing 4/3 fits
Phone calls now are for some fellow named Hannibal
Ouch! That bad, heh? Wow, I’m sure that Hannibal Lecter plays bridge and he would be sympathetic to his partner’s mistakes, wouldn’t he? Hmmmm!
That’s it for now, attached are the usual bits and pieces and I’ll see you later this week.
