Bridge Results 21 Nov 2017
It was a really lovely, balmy evening at Benoni Northerns, indeed it was probably a lovely, balmy evening all over Benoni, probably even further afield. Then there was bridge, and some people did rather well, especially Di and Bernie.
They nearly crossed the 70% threshold, finishing at just over 69%. Great stuff indeed, with Bridie and Cathy coming in second and Diana and Ann in third.
The two old guys were muttering about a dearth of good cards and even when they received hands which could be bid, they somehow didn’t. I’m talking about your poor chairman and his frustrated partner for the evening, not the other two old guys.
Enough of all that complaining and muttering about the lack of good hands and comparisons to the 400 year drought in the Atacama desert in Chile. Some players did well with these cards, didn’t they?
I’m going to pour two fingers of Scotch now, along with a few blocks of ice and contemplate what might have been, but wasn’t.
