I know you’re probably tired of hearing it, but I have to say that the night was cold, but the room was warm, the fire blazing away and some very good and challenging hands were played by some very good players. There were 4 slam hands to be bid, not five, and some distributional beauties as well. Five? Ask Cathy and Ros, who were given an early Christmas present from Vaun and Guylaine.
Just another enjoyable evening of bridge at Northerns.
Surprise, surprise, that most efficient little terrier of a player, Helen, and her partner Pauline came out on top with an excellent win, followed by Vaun and Guylaine in second.
Great win, Helen and Pauline.
Did you hear………
“My partner is 20 years behind the times. He still thinks you need high cards to bid”
“We play forcing hesitations”
“I favour light opening bids. When you’re my age, you’re never sure that the bidding will get round to you again”
Enough of that, enjoy the rest of the day and I’ll see most of you tomorrow.
Roy. (Troy’s sleeping, so I won’t include him)
