Welcome once again to the new members gracing our presence. We are really happy to have you join us in this never-ending passion we embrace and take part in every week.

We had 8 tables today, with some of the most interesting and difficult to bid hands we’ve ever seen. Just look at hand number 10 for example. We were in 6 Hearts, unfortunately going down. We had a QD lead and I went wrong on trick 1. Spot the mistake!

There was a very amusing incident during the afternoon, when I called for silence, then realised that the guy on the compacter outside was making the noise! The noise from building operations will continue for quite a few weeks, but it will all be worthwhile when it’s finished.

The ladies were totally dominant today, with all female pairs taking the first four places. The only representative of my gender appeared in 5th position, which was yours truly.

Great win from Pat and Rose, with Helen and Barbara second and Diana and Vaun third.

Just a reminder to any of our new members who are wanting to improve their play and knowledge that they can contact Lisa about attending her Monday afternoon sessions, which start at 1330. There is a small charge of R25 per session.
