Benoni Northerns is so much more than a cricket club, a soccer club or a hockey club. Since our humble beginnings in 1972, we’ve grown to become the sporting heartbeat of Benoni and its surrounds – a club defined by the balance between competitive excellence and family values. Within our 20-hectare grounds, are some of the most envied facilities in the area that will give you every chance of excelling, and every chance of enjoying yourself.
The only thing we covet more than winning is the joy and comraderie of sporting competition. Our members are our lifeblood. To us, the runner battling through his first road race is just as welcome as the batsman scoring a century at Club Champs; the veteran tennis player just as important as the star who scores the winner in the Benoni derby.

Benoni Northerns Athletics Club
The famous three-scimitar logo has been seen on the vest of many a great runner in South Africa’s top marathons. That said, we do what we do simply for the love of running. You may be hoping to emulate our favourite daughter, Frith Van Der Merwe, or you may simply be an amateur runner looking for a club. Either way, you’ll find a home at Benoni Northerns.

Bridge serves to remind us that sport doesn’t have to be about who is the strongest, the fastest or the most dextrous; it’s also about mental fortitude. Benoni Northerns Cricket Club
BNCC has a proud history, from the days of Denis Lindsay back in the 70’s to our recent appearances at Club Champs. But what we’re even more proud of is our culture of inclusion and togetherness. Junior, senior, expert or veteran, we’ve got a spot for you in one of our many cricket sides.

Benoni Northerns Football Club
Benoni Northerns soccer club has proved its strength for over four decades now. Today we boast a host of teams across different leagues. We embrace the ethos of the club by welcoming all types of players, from juniors putting on their first pair of boots to stars like Rowen Fernandez who have gone on to represent Bafana Bafana.

Benoni Northerns Hockey
Hockey was the original flagship sport of Benoni Northerns, and while the other sporting codes have caught up, hockey remains a cornerstone of the club. No player needs to venture outside Ekurhuleni to experience modern hockey facilities, thanks to the Benoni High School & Eastern Gauteng Hockey Association (EGHA) AstroTurf pitches, which have been installed on our doorstep.
Our teams compete in the Eastern Gauteng Hockey Leagues.

HALL HIRE
Host your function at the Benoni Northerns Hall
The Benoni Northerns Hall is a large, versatile venue that can comfortably seat 200 people. It is served by the club’s Scimitar Bar and Beer garden and is available for hire to the general public.

Benoni Northerns Social Club
We weren’t joking when we said we were dedicated to the social aspect of sport. We have an entire, highly-active sub section dedicated to just that, including the betterment of the greater community as a whole.
Benoni Northerns Social Club consists of members that perhaps don’t play as much sport as they used to, but still want to contribute in a positive way on behalf of Benoni Northerns. These members get stuck into the upliftment of the club (construction of the bar, maintenance work, etc.) as well as the upliftment of the community through charity work.
If you’re looking to get involved, head down to clubhouse – that’s where you’ll find us more often than not. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more approachable bunch of people, so don’t be shy.
